ARAD launches first technical reports

Amidst ever evolving challenges including the arrival of the Building Safety Act (BSA), ARAD’s technical committee, led by Sean Hanlon of SPHstructures, is pleased to release its first two reports.

The first outlines a typical airspace scheme approach upon finding a potential site, with the second providing details on ‘competency’. Since the arrival of the BSA, there has been a lot of talk about need for competency in and amongst Building Control and how that is now being recorded. However, competency extends to all members of the design and construction team via the Construction, Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.

ARAD members can log into the members area of the website to download the reports.

A spokesperson for ARAD, comments: “We are committed to sharing knowledge, learnings and best practice. Successful airspace development is highly technical and the challenges of working with existing buildings should not be underestimated, which is why we are pleased to launch this series of reports.”
