Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct for ARAD members establishes the requirements that apply to all Developers, Architects and Consultants etc. involved in rooftop and airspace development to set high standards and to ensure that best practice is followed thereby promoting the industry.

Members agree to:

  • Act in a transparent and straightforward manner with stakeholders.

  • Put health and safety at the forefront of any development, minimise disruption to existing occupiers and communicate regularly and clearly with them.

  • Endeavour to take all appropriate steps to meet required fire safety regulations.

  • Strive to add value to a development site, protect and enhance the environment and build whenever possible in a sustainable manner.

  • Ensure all negotiations with lessees are undertaken in a timely manner and, where appropriate, with a Party Wall surveyor.

  • Work within legal and ethical guidelines.

  • Respect the local community and minimise the impact on neighbours and the general public.

  • Have the appropriate insurance in place and that all contractors working on site are covered for their own safety and also cover the development if there are future problems

The ultimate aim of the Code is to provide a genuine commitment to maintain the highest quality standards in the design and construction of rooftop and airspace developments.
